Work-
The past month or so I have been working on a very big project for work. I initiated this project myself and I have been doing all of the work for it. It pertains to getting documents into my agency from outside agencies. This documents are crucial for the work of other units in my agency and as I am the only one with a black and white record of whether or not we have actually received these documents I am trying to improve the amount of documents that we are receiving because what we are getting compared to what we are suppose to be getting is just abysmal and pathetic. Today, I got the approval to go ahead with my project and contact the outside agencies to get what we need. I’m really really really hoping that I can get these outside agencies to work with me, especially as they are required by law to provide us these documents and by a certain time. My boss is very impressed with my work and he has been overseeing the whole thing. I’m so happy that I got a new supervisor because if it were’t for him I’d be sitting in my same ol’ spot doing nothing to better myself or my opportunities. Now, I’m creating a name for myself and learning all the things that I want to be learning plus helping others in my agency. My boss thinks that what I am currently doing could possibly go into policy for our agency! That would be so amazing!
Because the area that I am working in is kind of separate from my old area but still under the same management I have been talking to the Lt in my area and telling him what I’m doing. He’s also very impressed and is actually putting up a fight to have my under him. He’s gotten permission from my supervisor to help him work on projects in his area and everything. This just means more opportunities to learn more about the agency that I work for as well as more opportunities for recognition.
Hopefully, I can earn some coins and some other rewards for the work that I am doing. If I can really promote or go anywhere right now because of school and no job availability I decided I better be making the best of what I can where I am at and I’m definitely seizing that decision by the balls! I’m so proud of myself! Not only is school going great but so is work! YAY! [=
